Owens Farm: Community Engagement Could Help Solve the Zoning Issue
As a future councilmember, it is my desire that things not get this far.
I believe we, as a community, should be proactively looking at future possibilities for important sites before development proposals come along. We have envisioned new places and redevelopment for West Spring Valley, Main Street and the IQ District. That same thoughtful approach can be done elsewhere.
We can openly create community engagement possibilities well ahead of time so that citizens do not feel they have to write 100 letters and start an online petition with 4000 signatures at the last moment to make sure the interests of their neighborhoods are heard.
